This waterfront property in Greenwich needed a complete siding transformation. The existing cedar shakes were 30 years old and had significant rot in areas exposed to salt air. The homeowners wanted to maintain the natural cedar aesthetic with a modern color scheme that complemented their recent landscape renovation.

Before
The original western red cedar shakes had extensive rot along the bottom courses and around all window and door trim. Salt air exposure had accelerated deterioration on the water-facing elevations. The housewrap beneath had failed in several areas, allowing moisture into the wall cavities.
The Outcome
We installed premium Alaskan yellow cedar shakes with a factory-applied semi-transparent stain. All housewrap was replaced with a modern drainage-plane system. Custom PVC trim was used around all openings for zero-maintenance durability. The result is a stunning coastal aesthetic that will withstand decades of salt air exposure.
